What is a coach?
A coach is someone who asks deep, meaningful questions and presents a clear roadmap to help their clients arrive at the best possible answers to the greatest challenges in their career and life.
Through active listening, positive psychology and proven frameworks, I’m able to support and help my clients discover what they want to do in life, and I provide them with a toolkit to navigate the job market and secure opportunities that are fulfilling and financially stable.
Why do I need a coach? Isn’t the information available online?
It’s easy to do a quick Google search about how to navigate the job market. But with so much competing information and noise out there, it’s easy to feel lost, alone and not know where to start. Not to mention, none of this information is personalized to you.
On top of that, how do you even know if you’ll even enjoy the work you’re doing? Finding out what you find personally fulfilling is a hard conversation, and no article tells you how to do it.
That’s where I come in. I provide a clear roadmap that’s personalized to you, make sure you have all the information you’ll ever need to stay ahead of everyone else, keep you accountable and ever-evolving, guide you through the tough conversations, and support you during the highs and lows of self-discovery, the job market, and life itself.
Who do you coach?
My focus is on college students, recent grads and young professionals who are ambitious but don’t have a sense of clarity about exactly what they want or how to go about securing opportunities that align with their goals. However, I'm willing to coach anyone who is a good fit. While everyone’s interests and final goals are varied (as they should be), the common theme amongst my clients is everyone is motivated and invested into doing the work, learning more about themselves and improving the quality of their lives.
Why should I hire you?
When I was a freshman, I had no clue what I wanted to do or even how to get a job. My college provided very few resources to help me figure this process out. Therefore, to be able to answer these questions, I:
Spent 1 dedicated year to learn about myself through various self-immersion courses, travel experiences and work opportunities
Read 1000s of articles to get all the information I needed concerning the job market
Attended multiple courses and workshops to learn the tips and tricks from recruiters
Spoke to 70+ graduates, associates, and directors to learn how to stand out
Went on 30+ job interviews at top tier firms including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase, constantly testing various strategies throughout the process
Worked in 8 different firms from the world's largest and most renowned NGO, a top 3 investment bank, and multiple start-ups across virtual reality, fitness, automotive services, food, and thought leadership
Negotiated a 150% increase on my salary while working in Germany
Disseminated my experiences to develop a step-by-step process to learn what fulfills me and how to secure opportunities that align with my interests
I didn’t have someone to tell me how to go about self-discovery or navigate the job market. That’s why I’m passionate about providing this service to college students and recent graduates. It’s a painful problem to go through alone and without the correct guidance. But given my understanding of this process as well as knowing first-hand the desires and stresses of being a college student and young adult trying to find purpose in life, I’m uniquely positioned to address this problem.
What will I get out of this program?
This is a long term value program. I’m not guaranteeing that someone will suddenly find their dream job in 1 week or that everything will magically work out. But you will be equipped with a toolkit that will serve you for the rest of your life. You’ll:
Develop a framework to constantly assess and reassess what you find important
Gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs
Achieve clarity about the direction you want to pursue in life
Overcome personal obstacles that stop you from pursuing your goals
Save YEARS of wasted time by avoiding meaningless and unfulfilling work
Learn the networking and interview tricks to jump ahead of the line and avoid the typical application portal that receives 1000s of applications
Master negotiation skills to ensure you don’t leave money on the table
Have a clear step-by-step process that you can use to ensure that each opportunity you pursue in your career will be fulfilling and financially stable
Additionally, the program is customized to the unique needs of each client. This isn't a one size fits all model. This gives us flexibility in addressing the key issues stopping you from pursuing a life you want.
What if I only want certain parts of the program?
As I mentioned before, this program is customized to your needs. While I encourage everyone to go through all the modules as there is always something new to learn and all the skills I'd teach you are valuable, if I believe that you are fully prepared in certain aspects, we can focus on other areas of the program. For example, if you're more interested in spending more time on personal development and less on the job hunt, that's how I would design the program. With that being said, the length of the program would not be reduced.
How long is the Compass Program?
Compass is a 9-month long, intensive self-exploration and career success program. Change doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in small, incremental steps until it becomes ingrained into us. A single habit alone takes 66 days to create. While most clients can begin to make progress in the first session alone, they will see compounded results and the biggest breakthroughs over the course of 9 months. This ensures that we’re not fighting against the clock but rather, focused on your journey and development. Additionally, this allows enough time to do a true deep dive into who you are, where your interests lie, understand what types of jobs are aligned with you, research the job market sufficiently, network and build relationships, prepare for interviews, go through negotiation training and more. Rushing through all these tasks will not create the long-lasting impact that will benefit you through the course of your life.
What's included in the Compass Program?
Over the course of the program, you’ll receive:
- Up to 6 coaching sessions per month (based around your schedule), lasting 1-3 hours depending on the session
- Unlimited email-based coaching to answer any of your questions and get you unstuck
- Unlimited resume reviews, cover letter reviews, interview preparation, and negotiation preparation
- Lifetime access to all my coaching tools and worksheets
- Accountability to make sure you follow-through each week
- 100% satisfaction
Are the coaching sessions confidential?
Absolutely. All sessions are 100% confidential. Your trust is important to me.
How do we meet?
All coaching sessions will be done virtually over Skype, Google Hangouts or phone. This allows us to meet anytime, anywhere and lets you be comfortable in an environment that is familiar to you.
Is it worth it?
A recent survey by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the Association Resource Centre found that the mean return on investment in coaching was 7x the initial investment. A quarter saw 10x to 49x the cost.
A $10 book doesn't have the guidance and compassion of talking to a real person. Additionally, it's not continuously evolving with the times. Online courses range from $1,000 to $5,000 but there is little accountability built into them. There's nobody to call when you have questions, need clarification or someone to help you with the ups and downs. Additionally, there's no course out in the market that's specifically designed to take you from start to finish of helping you figure out what you want to do, conquer your fears, navigate the job market, negotiate your salary, and succeed on the job. This program is one of a kind. Finally, college degrees are close to $250,000 yet do not afford the practical know-how required in today's job market such as how to stand out from 1000s of applicants or how to negotiate 10-50% bumps in salary. This is represented by the fact that 4 out of 5 college graduates do not have a job lined up after graduating and 62% of recent grads did not negotiate their first job out of college.
However, think about it like this. How much is a clear sense of direction worth to you? How much is saving years of your life worth to you? How much is a job that you love, find fulfilling, and pays what you deserve worth to you? What if this program could help you pinpoint exactly what you want to do in life, and equip you with all the skills you’d need to go do it?
Is there a guarantee?
There is a 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee.
If you show me that you've committed to the program, are doing all the work and exercises, but you are not getting making any progress or getting results, then I will refund 100% of your program's costs.
